Just a couple Christmas Tunes for ya

Latest News

Latest News As of August

Hello, my friends. I hope that it's been a great summer for everyone and you've been able to hit the beach, relax in a pool, or, heck, even sit in front of an airconditioner for a few.

Summer has been pretty busy for both me and the band. I was back in Nashville in July for the Annual Summer NAMM show and got to hang out with my good friends from Blueridge Guitars and Shubb Capos and play a gig down at the Commodore Lounge. It's always a great time in Music City. In addition to that, the band and I have been gigging quite a bit throughout the Northeast and getting to meet some really good bands, find sweet new venues, and meet some really great people in the process.

Speaking of which, my good friend Adam Ezra is headling an outdoor event in Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts today, Saturday, August 25th,  and was kind enough to ask us to be the after party band over at Uncle Eddie's, right across the street from the beach! We start right after the fireworks at about 10pm. Bring your swim suit!

Other gigs coming up include:

August 31st: Port City Blue, Portland Maine (NE Americana solo songwriters night)

September 15th: Club Passim, Cambridge MA (New England Americana Fest!)

September 16th: Barrington, RI (Save the Bay Event)

detailed information and additional gigs can we found on the calendar tab of the website

For those of you who do not have the album "Resolution", I have reordered the CDs and they will be available on the merch store through the website (coming soon), or at any of our live gigs. As always, if you prefer downloads, it is available at iTunes and Amazon.com

For those of you who have "Resolution" and are jonesing for some new music, the wait may be over soon. I am in the process of recording an acoustic EP and over the halfway mark for writing the new full band album. I'm so excited about these records so far and will keep you posted on the release!

That's all for now! Savor the last few weeks of summer. Have a great weekend. I look forward to seeing you at a gig near you!

A few minutes of "Twitter Fame"

I have been a HUGE Sun Records fan for many years. I consistently search countless record stores for the albums with that bright yellow logo that lets everyone know that they are about to hear something great. My collection has become pretty darn big at this point and, yes, I listen to about 90% of my music on vinyl. Sun is where it all began: Cash, Elvis, Carl Perkins, Orbison, Jerry Lee, and one of my favorites, Charlie Rich. So imagine my surprise when my bass player tells me that Sun retweeted a post about my Charlie Rich tribute I have on youtube

It's not much. It won't make me a star. But to see my video with the Sun logo in the background made me smile all day long. That's why I love to play. That's why I love music. Thanks, Sun Records, for making a small time songwriter from Rhode Island's day.

News for February

Hello, my friends! I hope everyone is well.

Just a few updates I'd like to pass on to you:

First off, we've had some great gigs recently in Rhode Island. We played The Met in Providence in January, The Gas Lamp in Newport earlier this month, and, mostly recently, The 201 in Providence with some amazing artists and songwriters.

Secondly, The band is coming along even better than I had imagined. I couldn't be happier with the addition of Caleb Cook on bass, Chris Piccirillo on drums, Chris Farias on guitar/mandolin/vocals, and the addition of my sister, Lisa-Rose O'Connor, whose back up vocals, in addition to Chris', have opened the doors for some really pretty sounding three part harmonies.

That being said, these guys (and gal) are so good, that they are well deserving of there own band name, which will be released...as soon as we all agree on one. Haha! We have some strong ideas, but we'll keep you posted.

As far as new music goes, I've written a bunch of new songs that we plan on recording as soon as we can. I'm so excited about how they are coming along with the band, that we may release them as singles on iTunes and CDbaby instead of waiting for a full album. In this day and age of technology, why wait?

For those of you in the New England area, we have a couple of gigs to tell you about that are coming up.

March 26th, at the German Club in Pawtucket, RI, with my longtime friend: songwriter Jay Berndt.

April 1st, at Copperfield's Bar in Boston, MA

Thanks for your support! If you think anyone you know might be into the music, please pass it on. Every little bit helps :)

Take care!

Brian
